On 4 September 2008, the third hearing of Munir’s trial was on opinion of prosecutor on exception of legal advisor of Muchdi Purwaprandjono, former Deputy V BIN. The hearing was full of people coming from Muchdi’s side and victims’ families of human rights violation and students activists using t-shirt on Munir.

In the respond of exception, prosecutor elaborated that the process of investigation, prosecution and trial was outside of the international intervention such as USA Congress or EU. The prosecution of Muchdi Purwopranjono is just part of law enforcement.

The prosecutor also responded on the existence of Budi Santoso’s witness that he never came to the court to witness directly. On this matter, the prosecutor just answered smoothly by letting to the future and God, without legal argumentation.

Moreover, the respond was full of argumentation on locus of the hearing in South Jakarta district Court, which all arguments based on Muchdi’s address and most of witnesses live in South Jakarta.

Outside the court, there are many people in black t-shirt written “Free for Muchdi, Muchdi deserved for Papua people meant that Muhcdi deserved for country. Then they also distributed statement mentioned that “Solidarity for Muchdi” to refuse foreign intervention at each case of human rights in Indonesia, liquidate NGOs selling the country, to resettle all fund of NGOs coming from outside, free for Muchdi!

The next hearing will be held on 9 September 2008 by reading of interim verdict.
