Today, the hearing of Munir’s trial at 9 am with agenda examination of witness presented Suciwati and Indra Setiawan as witnesses. Suciwati as the first witness was more than two hours before Indra Setiawan as the second witness.

Suciwati told about what her husband activities as an activist in Kontras and Imparsial as well as invited as teacher in school of police or Military and speakers in seminars or discussions. She mentioned some terrors received such as in 2003 at her house in Jakarta or other terrors after her husband killed such as the package sent to Imparsial office. The police were informed, but never any progress. The one of interesting information from her witness was on Munir’s response when he knew that Muchdi was quit by DKP (Council of Honor for Military Officer) because of enforced disappearance cases in 1998. At the time, her husband reminded to be carefully.

The hearing also covered the evidence by prosecutor about Munir’s dissertation, which he planned to write down about “Enforced Disappearance” given to panel of judges.

The situation of the hearing started getting hot when the one of the legal advisors was victim of kidnapped in 1998, Desmond tried to ask Suciwati with details of kidnapped activists in 1997-1998 continued other lawyer advisor asked her with emotional voice.

Before closing the witness, Suciwati gave the document to judges mentioned the result of international Lobby in USA done by BIN in terms of the case of Munir.

The second witness is Indra Setiawan as former director of Garuda. Today, the witness of Indra Setiawan was really different than before. He spoke without doubtful. He stated that he released the letter for Pollycarpus as Corporate Aviation Security because of letter coming from BIN via Pollycarpus from As’ad. Then, Indra asked to Polly to get meeting with As’ad in order to confirm about the letter is true or not coming from him around March 2005 because Garuda and Polly were mentioned involve to Munir’s murder. In fact, it was easy for Pollycarpus to arrange the meeting. Finally, Indra got meeting at BIN office (he forget the date and time of the meeting). He supposedly met with As’ad, but he met with Muchdi Purwopranjono talked about the condition of Garuda. Then, he received the telephone number of Muchdi and he saved in his cell phone.

In the hearing, Indra Setiawan admitted that he met Muchdi twice, in BIN office and in Hotel Mulia. Both of meetings were admitted with Muchdi also, but he did not explain more. In some communications with Pollycarpus, Indra heard some“codes” such as JOKER, AS and AVI. He knew from the previous communications with Pollycarpus mentioned that Joker is Hendropriyono, As, Asmini is As’Ad, and Mrs Avi is Muchdi.

Moreover, when the lawyer advisor asked about the different information given by Indra setiawan at the first trial in Central Jakarta Court and now, Indra did not answer why, but he stated that his witness in this hearing is the truth.

The next court will be held on 18 September with other witnesses.
