Poldasu: Police need external monitoring body

MEDAN – North Sumatera police headquarter (Poldasu) chief, Irjen Badrodin Haiti, by his spokesman Baharudin Djafar affirmed Wednesday (Feb.3) that the police officers should always get control from outward watchdog body, for instance Commission of Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) that keep criticizing abuse practices held by the police officers.

"It is necessary to give surveillance from society element as Kontras to the official for controlling the police action," said the spokesman Baharudin, as quoted by Waspada Online in Medan, North Sumatera.

The police headquarter established to protect, and serve people, he said firmly.

"North Sumatera police station has fired the officers whose have ill-treatment to the people," Baharuddin said on his speech on public discussion which held by Kontras in North Sumatera in Garuda Plaza Hotel, Wednesday.
