Touching situation occurred during the funeral procession for Sondang Hutagalung who is a student of Bung Karno University Bylaw Faculty (UBK) after suffering severe burns due to self-burning action in front of State Palace on Wednesday (12/7). He buried in Block A1 blat 50, Pondokkelapa cemetery, East Jakarta, Sunday (12/11).

Sonaga’s family and his colleagues also participated to bring the Chief of Advocacy Association and Youth Marhaenist Study for Society and Indonesia Nation (Hammurabi) to the funeral location.

“Thank you for your concern and help to Sondang. Please forgive him if there is mistake from him,” expressed Herman, Sondang’s brother when giving a speech at the funeral.

Sondang was born on November 12, 1989 known as a figure who always gives priority to humanity. He had always opposed any violence forms towards human rights (HAM). “Sondang ever said, he would solve the past HAM case. We would continue his statement,” said Darma Silalahi, as Sondang’s colleagues.

He admitted that he was communicated with Sondang on Friday (12/2). He had sent massage to Darma with mobile number 02141883536. “Brother, I entrusted Hammurabi to you,” it was the last message from him to me.

Sondang is the youngest out of 4th brothers from the couple of Viktor Hutagalung and Dame Sipahutar was reckless did self-burning in front of State Palace on Wednesday (12/7). Sondang had severe burns until 98 percent and treated intensively at Cipto Mangkusumo Hospital (RSCM), Central Jakarta. Unfortunately, he was died at around 5.50 pm on Saturday (12/10).

Besides, KONTRAS board, Haris Azhar and Parliament (DPR) Member from PDIP, Budiman Sudjatmiko also attending during the funeral procession for Sondang. “Sondang’s statement should be continued,” stated Budiman.
