TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: In order to commemorate the Semanggi Tragedy I that happened on 13-14 November 1998, the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) is having an audience, photography exhibition, documentary film festival, and a discussion, that takes place at Atmajaya University in Jakarta, this afternoon (11/11).

“The event is to remind people of what happened at that time, so they will not forget, and also to give political support for government at present to solve case related to the tragedy,” said Kontras’s staff for Victims Impunity and Rights Monitoring, Ali Nursahid, on Wednesday (11/11).

Ali said that general public had started to forget the tragedy while it was a historical event leading Indonesia to a new era and reform.
